Make the design phone-friendly first

Canva Websites reflows pages for mobile, but designs made for wide screens can end up with small text or awkward image crops. Preview on mobile before publishing and enlarge body text — 16 px minimum on phones.

Steps

  1. PublishShare → Publish website, choose the free domain or connect your own.
  2. Copy the URLFrom the published page's address bar.
  3. Build with Website to APKUse the same logo as your Canva brand kit for the icon.
  4. Re-publish to updateAny change: edit in Canva, publish again — the app follows.

Making the most of Canva Websites in an app

Canva Websites publishes each page of your design as a section of a single site, with a menu linking them. That suits a small app well: the menu becomes the app's navigation, and each section a screen. A few things improve the experience:

  • Text as text, not pictures of text. Headings inside images can't be read by screen readers or search engines and look blurry when zoomed.
  • Compress big photos before uploading to Canva; heavy pages make the app slow to open on mobile data.
  • Buttons link to real actions — tel:, WhatsApp, maps or an order form. Inside the app they open the right app on the phone.
  • Add a contact or booking form via an embed (Google Forms works) so the app does something a printed flyer can't.

Sharing the app without Google Play

For a wedding, a festival or a short-lived event, skip the Play Store: put the APK on a download page and print a QR code. Guests scan, install, and have the schedule, map and info in one tap. See installing APKs for what guests will see.
